Product Overview
Clone 17P70 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes placenta growth factor (gene PGF) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 24.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 15 kDa.
Placental growth factor (PlGF, PGF) is a VEGF family member that binds VEGFR-1 (FLT1), and some isoforms also bind neuropilins. It supports angiogenesis and endothelial growth, particularly in pathological conditions, and is highly expressed in the placenta; circulating PlGF, often measured with sFlt-1, is widely studied in pregnancy research, including preeclampsia.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human PLGF.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes placenta growth factor as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): While the three isoforms are present in most placental tissues, PlGF-2 is specific to early (8 week) placenta and only PlGF-1 is found in the colon and mammary carcinomas.
