Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets proteolipid protein 2 (gene PLP2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 16.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 17 kDa.
PLP2 (proteolipid protein 2) is a small multispanning membrane protein of the MARVEL domain family expressed in epithelia, including the intestine. It has been linked to epithelial differentiation and to chemokine receptor signaling, but its functions are not fully defined.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human COLO320 cells, human A431 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human adenocarcinoma of the right colon tissue, human cervical cancer tissue, human gastric carcinoma tissue, human liver cancer tissue, human lymphoma tissue, human placenta tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Daudi cells.

Recombinant human PLP2 fragment (Asn18–Val152), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places proteolipid protein 2 in the membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Enriched in colonic mucosa. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
