Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects plasmalemma vesicle-associated protein (gene PLVAP) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 50.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 53 kDa.
PLVAP (also called PV-1) is an endothelial membrane glycoprotein that forms the diaphragms spanning fenestrae, caveolae openings and transendothelial channels. It helps control microvascular permeability and leukocyte migration, and it is used as a marker of fenestrated and leaky endothelium.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human 293T cells, human HEL cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HEL cells.

Recombinant human PLVAP fragment (Asn51–Lys422), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places plasmalemma vesicle-associated protein in the cell membrane, membrane and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in lung, kidney, heart, aorta, placenta, muscle, pituitary gland, adrenals, mammary gland, bladder, lymph node, bone marrow, trachea, digestive tract, liver and tumor-associated endothelium. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
