Product Overview
Clone ACIC-16 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes peripheral myelin protein 22 (gene PMP22) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 17.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 22 kDa.
Peripheral myelin protein 22 (PMP22) is a small membrane glycoprotein made mainly by Schwann cells and built into compact myelin of peripheral nerves. It is thought to help form and maintain myelin and may also affect cell growth. Changes in PMP22 gene dosage underlie Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 1A and related neuropathies.
