Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets purine nucleoside phosphorylase (gene PNP) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA.
Purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) is an enzyme of the purine salvage pathway that cleaves inosine and guanosine, and their deoxy forms, into the free base and (deoxy)ribose-1-phosphate. Loss of PNP activity causes toxic accumulation of deoxyguanosine in T cells, which is why PNP deficiency leads to immunodeficiency and why PNP inhibitors have been developed for T-cell cancers.

Immunogen
Recombinant human PNP fragment (Gln44–Gln273), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 86.5% and 87%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places purine nucleoside phosphorylase in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in red blood cells.
