Product Overview
Clone AAHB-16 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes podoplanin (gene PDPN) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 16.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 36 kDa.
Podoplanin (PDPN, also called gp36 or T1α) is a mucin-type transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on lymphatic endothelium, type I lung cells, podocytes and fibroblastic reticular cells. It binds the platelet receptor CLEC-2 to trigger platelet activation, which helps separate lymphatic from blood vessels during development, and it is a standard lymphatic marker also studied in cell migration and cancer.

The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places podoplanin in the [Podoplanin]: Membrane, cell projection, membrane raft and apical cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in placenta, lung, skeletal muscle and brain.
