Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes proteasome maturation protein (gene POMP) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 15.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 16 kDa.
Proteasome maturation protein (POMP) is a chaperone that helps assemble the 20S core of both standard proteasomes and immunoproteasomes. It is built into the forming core and is itself degraded once the proteasome becomes active. POMP is studied in protein degradation and proteasome biogenesis.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human Caco-2 cells, human Jurkat cells, human HL-60 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): A431 cells.

Recombinant human POMP fragment (Glu9–Leu141), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places proteasome maturation protein in the cytoplasm, nucleus and microsome membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Strongly expressed from the basal layer to the granular layer of healthy epidermis, whereas in KLICK patients there is a gradual decrease of expression toward the granular layer. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
