Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects protein O-mannosyl-transferase 1 (gene POMT1) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA.
Protein O-mannosyltransferase 1 (POMT1) works with POMT2 in the endoplasmic reticulum to attach mannose to serine or threonine residues of target proteins. Its main substrate is α-dystroglycan, and this O-mannosylation is required for dystroglycan to bind extracellular matrix. POMT1 mutations cause Walker-Warburg syndrome and related muscular dystrophies.
