Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects serum paraoxonase/arylesterase 2 (gene PON2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 39.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 39 kDa.
Paraoxonase 2 (PON2) is an intracellular member of the paraoxonase family that is widely expressed but, unlike PON1, is not carried on HDL. It hydrolyzes certain lactones and shows antioxidant activity, reducing lipid peroxidation of LDL. PON2 is studied in oxidative stress, atherosclerosis and bacterial quorum-sensing signals.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 40 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places serum paraoxonase/arylesterase 2 in the membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed with highest expression in liver, lung, placenta, testis and heart. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
