Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes inorganic pyrophosphatase 2, mitochondrial (gene PPA2) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 37.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 35 kDa.
Inorganic pyrophosphatase 2 (PPA2) is the mitochondrial form of pyrophosphatase, splitting pyrophosphate into phosphate inside mitochondria. This activity is needed for normal mitochondrial membrane potential and function. PPA2 mutations are linked to sudden cardiac death in infants and young adults, and it is studied in mitochondrial biology.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human 293T cells, human U87 cells, human HepG2 cells, human MCF-7 cells, mouse heart tissue, mouse kidney tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human breast cancer tissue, human colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue, human glioma tissue, human intestinal diffuse large B-cells lymphoma tissue, human thyroid cancer tissue, human tonsil tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): U2OS cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PPA2 fragment (Ala33–Lys334), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places inorganic pyrophosphatase 2, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in brain, gastric carcinoma, lung, ovary, skeletal muscle, umbilical cord blood and a cell line derived from kidney proximal tubule epithelium. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
