Product Overview
Clone 30P28 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes xaa-Pro dipeptidase (gene PEPD) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 54.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 55 kDa.
Prolidase (PEPD) is a cytosolic dipeptidase that cleaves dipeptides carrying proline or hydroxyproline at the C-terminus, such as Gly-Pro. Because collagen is rich in these imino acids, prolidase is important for recycling proline during collagen turnover, and its inherited deficiency causes prolidase deficiency with skin ulcers and other defects.
