Product Overview
Clone AAGB-16 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes peroxiredoxin-6 (gene PRDX6) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 25.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 25 kDa.
Peroxiredoxin 6 (PRDX6) is a bifunctional enzyme that combines glutathione-dependent peroxidase activity with phospholipase A2 activity. It can repair oxidized phospholipids in membranes and also acts as a lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransferase, which makes it important in lung surfactant metabolism, membrane repair and oxidative stress research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human PC-3 cells, human K562 cells, human HeLa cells, rat brain tissue, rat liver tissue, mouse brain tissue, mouse liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human PRDX6.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places peroxiredoxin-6 in the cytoplasm and lysosome. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
