Product Overview
Clone 29P71 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes guanine nucleotide-exchange factor SEC12 (gene PREB) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 45.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.
SEC12 (PREB) is an endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein that acts as the guanine nucleotide exchange factor for the small GTPases SAR1A and SAR1B. By loading SAR1 with GTP it starts assembly of the COPII coat that buds vesicles from the ER toward the Golgi; it was first described as a prolactin promoter-binding factor in the pituitary.
