Product Overview
Clone 21P23 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes protein arginine N-methyltransferase 6 (gene PRMT6) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 41.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 42 kDa.
PRMT6 is a nuclear type I arginine methyltransferase that mainly produces asymmetric dimethylarginine. Its signature histone mark, H3R2me2a, opposes H3K4 methylation and is associated with transcriptional repression, and PRMT6 also methylates DNA polymerase β and HMGA1, linking it to gene regulation, DNA repair and senescence.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Jurkat cells, human HeLa cells, human 293T cells, human A431 cells, rat testis tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places protein arginine N-methyltransferase 6 in the nucleus.
