Product Overview
Clone 17P73 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes vitamin K-dependent protein C (gene PROC) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 52.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 52 kDa.
Protein C (PROC) is a vitamin K-dependent plasma zymogen made in the liver. After activation by the thrombin-thrombomodulin complex, activated protein C cleaves and inactivates coagulation factors Va and VIIIa with protein S as cofactor, providing a major natural anticoagulant brake, and it also has cytoprotective effects on endothelium.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HepG2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human protein C.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes vitamin K-dependent protein C as secreted and also located in the Golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Plasma. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
