Product Overview
Clone 29P97 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes U4/U6 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein Prp31 (gene PRPF31) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 55.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
PRPF31 is a component of the U4/U6 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein that is required to assemble the U4/U6-U5 tri-snRNP, a building block of the spliceosome. Mutations in PRPF31 cause an autosomal dominant form of retinitis pigmentosa, which has made it a focus of both splicing and retinal degeneration research.
