Product Overview
Clone 19P04 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes pre-mRNA-processing-splicing factor 8 (gene PRPF8) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 273.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 274 kDa.
PRPF8 is a very large, highly conserved protein at the heart of the spliceosome. It forms a scaffold that positions the U5, U6 and U2 snRNAs and the pre-mRNA at the catalytic center of both major and minor spliceosomes, and PRPF8 mutations are a cause of autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places pre-mRNA-processing-splicing factor 8 in the nucleus and nucleus speckle. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
