Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets proline-rich protein 5 (gene PRR5) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 42.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 39 kDa.
PRR5 (also called Protor-1) is a subunit that associates with mTOR complex 2 (mTORC2) through the core component Rictor. mTORC2 responds to growth factor signals to phosphorylate AKT and other AGC kinases and to regulate the actin cytoskeleton, and PRR5 has been linked to control of PDGF receptor β expression.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human 293T cells, human HeLa cells, human Jurkat cells, human HepG2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): 293T cells.

Recombinant human PRR5 fragment (Ser45–Asp366), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Most abundant in kidney and liver. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
