Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets brain-specific serine protease 4 (gene PRSS22) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 33.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 42 kDa.
PRSS22 (brain-specific serine protease 4, also called tryptase ε) is a trypsin-like serine protease expressed mainly in epithelial cells of the airways. Its natural substrates and physiological role are not yet well defined, and it is studied as a member of the chromosome 16p13.3 tryptase gene cluster.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Caco-2 cells, human MCF-7 cells, human RT4 cells, human Hacat cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): RT4 cells.

Recombinant human PRSS22 fragment (Lys43–Gln299), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes brain-specific serine protease 4 as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed abundantly in the epithelial cells of the airways, including trachea, esophagus and fetal lung. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
