Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects proteasome subunit beta type-4 (gene PSMB4) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 29.2 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 25 kDa, 29 kDa.
PSMB4 (β7) is a non-catalytic β subunit of the 20S core proteasome that plays an important role in joining two half-proteasomes during assembly. As part of the proteolytic core it supports degradation of ubiquitinated proteins, and it is studied in proteasome assembly and cancer research.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): human intestinal cancer tissue, human breast cancer tissue.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HEL cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PSMB4 fragment (Gln20–Glu264), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places proteasome subunit beta type-4 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
