Product Overview
Clone AEFI-16 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes proteasome subunit beta type-8 (gene PSMB8) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 30.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 23 kDa.
PSMB8 (β5i, also called LMP7) is an interferon-γ-inducible catalytic subunit of the immunoproteasome that replaces constitutive β5. It shifts cleavage toward peptides with hydrophobic C-termini that fit MHC class I molecules, and PSMB8 mutations cause proteasome-associated autoinflammatory syndromes.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human proteasome 20S LMP7 The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex which is characterized by its ability to cleave peptides with Arg, Phe, Tyr, Leu, and Glu adjacent to the leaving group at neutral or slightly basic pH. The proteasome has an ATP-dependent proteolytic activity.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places proteasome subunit beta type-8 in the cytoplasm and nucleus.
