Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects pentatricopeptide repeat-containing protein 1, mitochondrial (gene PTCD1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, flow cytometry and ELISA.
PTCD1 is a mitochondrial pentatricopeptide repeat protein that binds RNA. It associates with leucine tRNAs and influences the processing and levels of mitochondrial tRNAs, which in turn affects mitochondrial protein synthesis and respiratory complex activity, so it is studied in mitochondrial gene expression.

Recombinant human PTCD1 fragment (Asp203–Leu601), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 76.2% and 77.8%, respectively.

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places pentatricopeptide repeat-containing protein 1, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion and mitochondrion matrix. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Abundant in testes, skeletal muscle and heart.
