Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects prostaglandin reductase 1 (gene PTGR1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 35.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 36 kDa.
Prostaglandin reductase 1 (PTGR1, also known as LTB4 12-hydroxydehydrogenase) is an NAD(P)H-dependent enzyme that inactivates eicosanoids. It saturates a key double bond in 15-oxo-prostaglandins and also oxidizes leukotriene B4, helping to switch off lipid mediators of inflammation.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human HepG2 cells, human A549 cells, human RT4 cells, human SiHa cells, human Hacat cells, human Caco-2 cells, human PC-3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): RT4 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PTGR1 fragment (Thr8–Ala329), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places prostaglandin reductase 1 in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): High expression in the kidney, liver, and intestine but not in leukocytes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
