Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects prostaglandin reductase 2 (gene PTGR2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 38.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 40 kDa.
Prostaglandin reductase 2 (PTGR2) is a 15-oxo-prostaglandin 13-reductase that acts on 15-keto prostaglandins, with the strongest activity toward 15-keto-PGE2. Because 15-keto-PGE2 can activate PPARγ, PTGR2 is studied in prostaglandin catabolism and adipocyte differentiation.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human MCF-7 cells, human RT4 cells, human Caco-2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): RT4 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PTGR2 fragment (Glu26–Gln305), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places prostaglandin reductase 2 in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
