Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets protein tyrosine phosphatase type IVA 2 (gene PTP4A2) in human and rat samples and is validated for flow cytometry, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 19.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 19 kDa.
PRL-2 (PTP4A2) is a small prenylated protein tyrosine phosphatase of the PRL family. It promotes cell cycle progression from G1 into S phase and can block Rab geranylgeranyl transferase II, and PRL phosphatases are studied for their links to tumor growth and metastasis.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human MOLT-4 cells, human T-47D cells, human Daudi cells, human RT4 cells, rat PC-12 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human prostatic cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U937 cells, MCF-7 cells, A431 cells.

Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human PTP4A2. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places protein tyrosine phosphatase type IVA 2 in the cell membrane, early endosome and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels in skeletal muscle, heart and thymus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
