Product Overview
Clone 28C73 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes cadherin-4 (gene CDH4) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 100.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 130 kDa.
R-cadherin (cadherin-4, CDH4) is a classical cadherin that links neighboring cells through calcium-dependent, mostly like-to-like binding. By helping similar cells stick together and sort from others, it shapes tissue organization, and it is studied mainly in the developing retina and nervous system.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human U251 cells, human U2OS cells, human U87-MG cells, rat brain tissue, rat C6 cells, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places cadherin-4 in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed mainly in brain but also found in other tissues. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
