Product Overview
Clone 20R31 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes small ribosomal subunit protein RACK1 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for flow cytometry, ICC/IF, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 35.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 35 kDa.
RACK1 is a WD40-repeat scaffold protein originally identified as a receptor for activated protein kinase C. It sits on the 40S ribosomal subunit, where it influences translation and ribosome quality control, and it also binds many signaling proteins, linking kinase signaling to protein synthesis.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human MCF-7 cells, human Jurkat cells, human HepG2 cells, human A549 cells, rat liver tissue, rat C6 cells, mouse liver tissue, mouse HEPA1–6 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:1000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human RACK1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places small ribosomal subunit protein RACK1 in the cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus and perikaryon. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): In the liver, expressed at higher levels in activated hepatic stellate cells than in hepatocytes or Kupffer cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
