Product Overview
Clone 21C56 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes death domain-containing protein CRADD in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 22.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 23 kDa.
CRADD (also called RAIDD) is an adaptor protein with a death domain and a caspase recruitment domain. It links PIDD1 to caspase-2 in the PIDDosome, an assembly that switches on caspase-2 in response to stresses such as DNA damage, and it is studied in apoptosis and cell cycle checkpoint control.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places death domain-containing protein CRADD in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Constitutively expressed in most tissues, with particularly high expression in adult heart, testis, liver, skeletal muscle, fetal liver and kidney. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
