Product Overview
Clone ACFI-18 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes GTP-binding nuclear protein Ran in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 24.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 24 kDa.
Ran (RAN) is a small nuclear GTPase whose GTP-bound form is concentrated in the nucleus and GDP-bound form in the cytoplasm. This gradient directs importins and exportins to load and release cargo on the correct side of the nuclear envelope, and Ran-GTP also organizes spindle assembly during mitosis.
