Product Overview
Clone 19R47 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes ran GTPase-activating protein 1 (gene RANGAP1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 63.5 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 64, 90 kDa.
RanGAP1 (RANGAP1) is the cytoplasmic GTPase-activating protein for Ran, converting Ran-GTP to Ran-GDP after transport complexes leave the nucleus. This step maintains the Ran gradient that drives nuclear import and export, and RanGAP1 is a classic SUMO-modified protein anchored at the nuclear pore through RanBP2.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places ran GTPase-activating protein 1 in the cytoplasm, nucleus, nucleus envelope and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in brain, thymus and testis. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
