Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes rasGAP-activating-like protein 1 (gene RASAL1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for ELISA, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 90.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 90 kDa.
RASAL1 is a Ras GTPase-activating protein of the GAP1 family whose activity responds to changes in intracellular calcium. By turning off Ras it acts as a brake on Ras signaling, and it has also been linked to dendrite formation in melanocytes. It is studied in Ras regulation and in tumors where its expression is lost.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue, human Raji cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): rat intestine tissue, mouse spleen tissue, mouse intestine tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in thyroid and adrenal medulla, lower expression in brain, spinal cord and trachea. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
