Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets retinoblastoma-associated protein (gene RB1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA.
The retinoblastoma protein (pRb, RB1) is a classic tumor suppressor that controls entry into S phase. In its underphosphorylated form it binds E2F transcription factors and recruits chromatin-modifying enzymes to silence cell cycle genes; phosphorylation by cyclin–CDK complexes releases E2F and allows DNA replication to begin. Loss of RB1 causes retinoblastoma, and pRb status is a standard readout in cell cycle and cancer research.

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places retinoblastoma-associated protein in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in the retina.
