Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes RNA-binding motif, single-stranded-interacting protein 1 (gene RBMS1) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 44.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50 kDa.
RBMS1 (also called MSSP) is a single-stranded nucleic acid-binding protein originally found to bind a region upstream of the MYC gene. It is thought to contribute to DNA replication and transcriptional control, and has been studied in post-transcriptional regulation as well.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human adrenocortical adenoma tissue, human breast cancer tissue, human glioblastoma tissue, human larynx squamous cells carcinoma tissue, human liver cancer tissue, human lung adenocarcinoma tissue, human rectum adenocarcinoma tissue, human spleen tissue, human testicular seminoma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U87 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human RBMS1 fragment (Lys3–Lys406), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places RNA-binding motif, single-stranded-interacting protein 1 in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highest amounts are found in placenta, lung and heart. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
