| Immunogen | A synthesized peptide derived from human RBPJK Transcriptional regulator that plays a central role in Notch signaling, a signaling pathway involved in cell-cell communication that regulates a broad spectrum of cell-fate determinations. Acts as a transcriptional repressor when it is not associated with Notch proteins. |

Product Overview
Clone AEEF-18 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes recombining binding protein suppressor of hairless (gene RBPJ) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 55.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
RBPJ (also called CSL or RBP-Jκ) is the DNA-binding transcription factor at the heart of Notch signaling. Alone it represses Notch target genes by recruiting corepressor complexes, but when the Notch intracellular domain enters the nucleus it forms an activating complex that turns these genes on. RBPJ is therefore central to studies of cell fate decisions, development, stem cells and immunity.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): MCF-7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human RBPJK.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places recombining binding protein suppressor of hairless in the nucleus and cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
