- Molecular weight: 56 kDa, calculated 49655 MW
- Applications: WB, IHC, IF, ICC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA
Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-RCC2 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A06203-2.
Biological background
Biological context: Binds RNA. Seems to recognize a GAAA motif. Can bind to its own 3'-UTR, the FOS 3'-UTR and the ID 3'-UTR.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Cytoplasm. Nucleus. Cytoplasm., tissue context: Brain; neural-specific..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare RCC2 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of RCC2 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Immunofluorescence / ICC: Assess subcellular localization patterns and co-localization with compartment markers in cultured cells.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify RCC2-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: Protein RCC2 also known as telophase disk protein of 60 kDa (TD-60) or RCC1-like protein TD-60 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RCC2 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a guanine exchange factor that is active on RalA, a small GTPase. The encoded protein and RalA are both essential for proper kinetochore-microtubule function in early mitosis. This protein has been shown to be a biomarker for colorectal cancer.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Cytoplasm. Nucleus. Cytoplasm.
- Tissue details: Brain; neural-specific.
- Research category: DNA/RNA,Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling,RNA Processing
