Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes reversion-inducing cysteine-rich protein with Kazal motifs (gene RECK) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 106.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100 kDa.
RECK is a GPI-anchored membrane glycoprotein first identified as an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases. Together with GPR124 (ADGRA2) it acts as a specific co-receptor for Wnt7a and Wnt7b, enabling Wnt signaling in brain endothelial cells that is needed for CNS angiogenesis and blood–brain barrier formation.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human U251 cells, human Jurkat cells, human SH-SY5Y cells, rat C6 cells, mouse LLC cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Jurkat cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human RECK fragment (Gln179–Lys806), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 94.3%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places reversion-inducing cysteine-rich protein with Kazal motifs in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in various tissues and untransformed cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
