Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets DNA-binding protein RFXANK in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 28.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 34 kDa.
RFXANK is the ankyrin-repeat subunit of the RFX complex, which binds the X1 box of MHC class II promoters. Working with the coactivator CIITA, it is needed to switch on MHC class II genes, and RFXANK mutations cause bare lymphocyte syndrome type II, a form of combined immunodeficiency.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): PC-3 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human RFXANK fragment (Glu29–Glu260), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 85.1%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places DNA-binding protein RFXANK in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
