Product Overview
Clone 18R02 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase RNF8 in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 55.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
RNF8 is a RING E3 ubiquitin ligase that starts ubiquitin signaling at DNA double-strand breaks. It is recruited through its FHA domain to ATM-phosphorylated MDC1 and, with UBC13, builds Lys63-linked chains on chromatin that set the stage for RNF168 and the recruitment of 53BP1 and BRCA1 during repair.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human fetal kidney.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human RNF8.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase RNF8 in the nucleus, cytoplasm, midbody and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
