Product Overview

Clone 27R88 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes large ribosomal subunit protein eL13 (gene RPL13) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 24.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 26 kDa.

RPL13 (eL13) is a protein of the large 60S ribosomal subunit and contributes to the structure of the ribosome that carries out protein synthesis. Variants in RPL13 have been linked to a rare skeletal dysplasia, and the protein is often used in studies of ribosome composition and translation.

Validated Applications

Western blot 1:500–1:2000
Immunohistochemistry 1:50–1:200
Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence 1:50–1:200

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): MCF-7 cells.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human RPL13.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places large ribosomal subunit protein eL13 in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Higher levels of expression in benign breast lesions than in carcinomas. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
