Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes retinoschisin (gene RS1) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA.
Retinoschisin (RS1) is a secreted discoidin-domain protein made by photoreceptors and bipolar cells that forms octamers binding the surface of retinal cells. It helps maintain the layered architecture and cell adhesion of the retina, and mutations in RS1 cause X-linked retinoschisis.

Immunogen
Recombinant human RS1 fragment (Tyr34–Ala224), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 96.9%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt describes retinoschisin as secreted and also located in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Restricted to the retina (at protein level).
