Product Overview

This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects retrotransposon-like protein 1 (gene RTL1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA.

RTL1 (also called PEG11) is a paternally expressed imprinted gene derived from an ancient retrotransposon. It is required in fetal capillary endothelial cells of the placenta to maintain the fetal–maternal interface, and altered RTL1 dosage in the DLK1–DIO3 imprinted region is linked to Kagami–Ogata and Temple syndromes.
