Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets runt-related transcription factor 2 (gene RUNX2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 56.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 62 kDa.
RUNX2 is the master transcription factor for bone formation, required for osteoblast maturation and for both intramembranous and endochondral ossification. It drives genes such as osteocalcin, osteopontin and type I collagen, making it a standard marker in studies of skeletal development, osteogenic differentiation and bone disease.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Rat, Mouse) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human U-87MG cells, rat liver tissue, mouse liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the middle region of human RUNX2. The peptide sequence is conserved in rat and mouse.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places runt-related transcription factor 2 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Specifically expressed in osteoblasts. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
