Rabbit Monoclonal

Product Overview

Clone 18R82 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes RING1 and YY1-binding protein (gene RYBP) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 24.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 32 kDa.

RYBP is a Polycomb group protein that binds RING1 and YY1 and is part of variant PRC1 complexes. It stimulates monoubiquitination of histone H2A at lysine 119, helping keep developmental genes silent, and it has also been reported to stabilize p53 by limiting its ubiquitination.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places RING1 and YY1-binding protein in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Down-regulated in breast cancer tissues and in several breast cancer cell lines (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:2000; Immunohistochemistry 1:50–1:200; Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence 1:50–1:200; Flow cytometry 1:50; Immunoprecipitation 1:50. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 24.8 kDa; observed band at about 32 kDa. A difference from the calculated size is common and can reflect post-translational modification, processing or isoform differences.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human RYBP.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
