Overview
Anti-RYR2 Antibody Picoband® is an antibody for RYR2 detection raised in Rabbit (Polyclonal, Rabbit IgG), with reported reactivity: Human,Mouse,Rat. Commonly used in WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA workflows.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: RYR2 (CD19 antigen); UniProt: Q92736
- Antibody format: Rabbit, Polyclonal, Rabbit IgG
- Molecular weight: 564 kDa
- Applications: WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA
Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-RYR2 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A00155-3.
Biological background
Biological context: Assembles with the antigen receptor of B-lymphocytes in order to decrease the threshold for antigen receptor-dependent stimulation.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare RYR2 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of RYR2 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify RYR2-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: Ryanodine receptor 2 (RYR2) is a protein found primarily in cardiac muscle. In humans, it is encoded by the RYR2 gene. This gene encodes a ryanodine receptor found in cardiac muscle sarcoplasmic reticulum. The encoded protein is one of the components of a calcium channel, composed of a tetramer of the ryanodine receptor proteins and a tetramer of FK506 binding protein 1B proteins, that supplies calcium to cardiac muscle. Mutations in this gene are associated with stress-induced polymorphic ventricular tachycardia and arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
- Research category: Adaptive Immunity,B Cells,Hematopoietic Progenitors,Immunology,Lymphoid,Stem Cells
