Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Antibody format: Rabbit Polyclonal Rabbit IgG
  • Immunogen / epitope context: E. coli-derived human S100A10 recombinant protein (Position: Q4-K94). (reported region: Q4-K94).
  • Molecular weight context: reported MW: 11 kDa; calculated MW: 12252 MW
  • Reactivity: Human,Monkey,Mouse,Rat
  • Applications: ELISA, Flow Cytometry, IF, IHC, ICC, WB

As a polyclonal antibody, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve detection robustness but may increase sensitivity to sample-dependent epitope changes.

Biological background

S100 calcium binding protein A10. S100 calcium-binding protein A10 (S100A10), also known as p11, is a protein that is encoded by the S100A10 gene in humans and the S100a10 gene in other species. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein may function in exocytosis and endocytosis. Functional note: Because S100A10 induces the dimerization of ANXA2/p36, it may function as a regulator of protein phosphorylation in that the ANXA2 monomer is the preferred target (in vitro) of tyrosine- specific kinase. Reported localization: alpha-beta T cell receptor complex; external side of plasma membrane; immunological synapse; cell body; cell-cell junction; dendritic spine; integral component of membrane

Research relevance and current trends

  • Signal Transduction: Researchers commonly examine how S100A10 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Signaling Pathway: Researchers commonly examine how S100A10 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Cytoskeleton/ECM: Researchers commonly examine how S100A10 relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting: compare relative S100A10 levels across conditions; band patterns may reflect isoforms and processing.
  • IHC/IHC-F: assess spatial distribution of S100A10 across tissue regions and cell types using matched controls.
  • IF/ICC: evaluate subcellular localization and co-localization patterns; signal can depend on fixation/permeabilization and epitope accessibility.
  • Flow cytometry: quantify target-positive populations and shifts in expression; gating strategy and background staining controls are essential.
  • ELISA-compatible use: when applicable, interpret signal as relative abundance across sample sets with consistent handling and dilution strategy.

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Specificity notes: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
  • Cross-reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
  • Isoforms and PTMs: Apparent size and signal patterns can differ across splice isoforms, proteolytic processing, and post-translational modifications.
  • Controls: Include an isotype control (as relevant), no-primary control for imaging, and orthogonal validation such as KD/KO samples when available.
