Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets cohesin subunit SA-2 (gene STAG2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 141.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 141 kDa.
STAG2 (SA2) is a subunit of the cohesin complex, which encircles sister chromatids to keep them paired until their separation at anaphase. Cohesin also shapes 3D genome structure and gene expression, and STAG2 is frequently mutated in several cancers, including bladder cancer and myeloid neoplasms.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): SiHa cells.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): human colon cancer tissue.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U937 cells, 293T cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human SA2/STAG2 fragment (Glu750–Met1175), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places cohesin subunit SA-2 in the nucleus and chromosome. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
