Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes sterile alpha motif domain-containing protein 1 (gene SAMD1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 56.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 72 kDa.
SAMD1 is a chromatin protein that binds unmethylated CpG islands marked by H3K4me3 and acts as a transcriptional repressor. It recruits L3MBTL3 and works with the KDM1A (LSD1) demethylase complex to adjust H3K4 methylation, and it has also been linked to LDL binding in atherosclerosis research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human SH-SY5Y cells, human MCF-7 cells, human HeLa cells, human A431 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): K562 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human SAMD1 fragment (Lys75–Leu537), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes sterile alpha motif domain-containing protein 1 as secreted and also located in the nucleus and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in atherosclerotic lesions, not in normal intima. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
