Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes ribosome maturation protein SBDS in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 28.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 29–32 kDa.
SBDS is a ribosome maturation factor that, together with the GTPase EFL1, releases eIF6 from the large 60S subunit so that it can join the 40S subunit to form a working 80S ribosome. Mutations in SBDS cause Shwachman-Diamond syndrome, a ribosomopathy with bone marrow failure and pancreatic insufficiency.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Caco-2 cells, HL-60 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human SBDS fragment (Arg19–Asp241), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places ribosome maturation protein SBDS in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
