Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects stearoyl-CoA desaturase (gene SCD) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation and ELISA.
Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD, also SCD1) is an ER membrane enzyme that introduces a cis double bond into saturated fatty acyl-CoAs, mainly converting palmitoyl- and stearoyl-CoA to palmitoleate and oleate. As the rate-limiting step in monounsaturated fatty acid synthesis, it is widely studied in lipogenesis, obesity, insulin resistance and cancer metabolism.
