Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects N-terminal kinase-like protein (gene SCYL1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 89.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 115 kDa.
SCYL1 is a pseudokinase that regulates COPI-mediated retrograde transport from the Golgi apparatus back to the endoplasmic reticulum and helps maintain Golgi structure. SCYL1 mutations cause a recessive syndrome affecting liver, bones and nerves, and the protein is studied in membrane trafficking and neurodegeneration.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human MCF-7 cells, human T-47D cells, human PC-3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HL-60 cells.

Recombinant human SCYL1 fragment (Ala5–Gln259), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places N-terminal kinase-like protein in the Golgi apparatus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
